This new year also means many new challenges, since most platforms are having trouble with their payment services because of the FOSTA/SESTA laws, and how Social Media platforms are developing their algorithms to “protect” – as Adam Mossieri, Head of Instagram said in court when asked about next years Instagram budget – hundreds of millions into growth and policing. 2021 was a year of revolutions, specially in health, political and the technology sectors. We’re about to go into a third year of Pandemic, and the gap between reality and virtual reality is closing as we speak. From VR porn to NFT’s, technology seems to be a bit away from analogue content, but that’s when art comes into the equation. There is no way to emulate a camera in a humans hand, an image through the human eye, or the concept inside the human mind – let alone a proper preset to emulate film. Encapsulating moments.That is priceless, and so are the possibilities that come with the value of analogue media arts and Crypto: endless. Proving authority over the content, agreements on the production, developing film processes, owning negatives, literal cassettes, original first scans, and all of this data IS the value of the total work that analogue arts are about.
